BMW 3.0 CSL E9 batmobil originally from Indonesia.
Imported in the state of material. And just being in the garage for 16 years, then bought by Tony Walker for re-export to Germany, in the total restoration in the livery of greener “Gosser Beer” and they use various races in Germany

The following story from Tony Walker :

This is only third time Tony Walker has come out to play in his Bat Wing CSL. Incredibly the Gosser Beer liveried BMW lived in a barn for fifteen years, thousands of mile away in Indonesia.

Started when a group of Indonesian came too Germany looking to buy race car at the end the 1977 season. Then in December of the year it won the Indonesian GP held at Jakarta.
In 1978 is stayed in Indonesia and wore the livery of Bentoel Cigarettes, Tony explains what happened next. “ it’s engine was damaged by cracking the oil pan at a race on the Jakarta track and never used or seen again, Until I was shown the car.”
In 1994 shipped the CSL back to Europe for full nut end bolt rebuild. Conceding that there was no way such a job could be undertaken over there.

The restoration took six or seven years the CSL didn’t see the track again until Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2006. It then came to Le Mans Classic in 2008 and new again in 2012. Aside from that it’s been parked up in preference of Tony’s collection of rally cars.
